Although the new cities have not yet been defined, the company’s plan will be to consolidate and strengthen its presence in Mexico, growing its driver count to 500,000.

Slated to begin operations on August 14, the center will employ professionals with expertise in information technology, who will provide training in a variety of digital services, particularly internet of things (IoT).

The contest included a total of 119 projects registered with 5,789 entrepreneurs from 137 universities throughout the Republic.

The Querétaro center will employ more than 250 software professionals, with company officials promising to double the size of the workforce by the end of the year.

Ingenia is a full-service digital agency that operates out of Polanco in Mexico City, with a core technology focus on web design and mobile app development.

Axtel has already invested more than US$25 million in the data center and would spend an additional $43 million over the coming months to expand the facility’s storage capacity.

“The only way that all of Mexico can become a real power and compete globally is through technology, education, and giving support to all our young people,” said the state leader to some 25,000 attendees of Jalisco Campus Party.
