Mexico’s most recognized private educator, Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), has launched an online coding boot camp to teach a new generation of programmers and developers.
The coding boot camp will teach frontend and backend technologies to create full stack developers, offering students to be part of a virtual community of like-minded individuals, and to receive real-time support from educators.
“Tecnológico de Monterrey Coding Boot Camp was designed to help students develop the most in-demand skills for companies in Mexico, for one of the best paid occupations in Mexico,” says the portal.
ITESM offers all students career support and coaching, which includes portfolio reviews, resume assistance, and technical interview training. In addition, the university is also offering students experiential learning opportunities to strengthen their portfolio.
The coding boot camp is open to anyone in any country and is taught exclusively in English. Applicants must demonstrate that they have the minimum level of proficiency in English required to successfully complete the program.
Students can expect to spend approximately 10-12 hours per week in online classes. According to the university successful students spend an additional 20 hours per week on class preparation, homework, and career services assignments.
No previous experience is required, as the university’s pre-course tutorials are designed to get students ready to start learning from day one. There is also a part-time program that allows working professionals to study web development while keeping their regular jobs.
Upon completion, graduates will receive a certificate of completion from ITESM, along with a proven portfolio of projects to demonstrate their working knowledge of web development.
Live, online courses begin on August 11, 2018 and the tuition fee is MXN$99,000 (US$5,000) plus 16% IVA (tax). There is an interest-free payment plan, which lets students pay the tuition fee in fixed installments.
