While the original Silicon Valley will never lose its well-known capabilities and history with technological innovation, Mexico has emerged as a viable alternative for entrepreneurs and software gurus to find success.
Guadalajara continues to grow in strength as Mexico’s Silicon Valley, attracting more and more developers, engineers, and data scientists from other countries, including the United States.
Matt Pasienski, Co-founder and Head of Growth at Wizeline, is the personification of this “tech-xpat” trend, pulling up his San Francisco roots to find a new life in Guadalajara, where he is seeing the value and potential of Mexico’s talent pool first hand.
Check out our candid interview with Matt below, in which he highlights that Silicon Valley has lost the ability to scale, meaning that people who would be very successful there are struggling to break in.
As Matt described when he first moved south of the border, “The American Dream has moved to Mexico. If you work hard in Mexico you can buy a house, have a family, and live a good life. That’s not something I can see happening in San Francisco right now.”
